The mine defense ship of the new generation of project 12700 "Vladimir Yemelyanov" has joined the list of ships participating in the third Sevastopol Maritime Salon (SVMS-2021), which opened on October 6 as part of the congress and exhibition events of the "Russian Maritime Week 2021". This was announced to TASS on Thursday by the head of the forum Alexey Malko.
"The newest mine defense ship Vladimir Yemelyanov arrived at the Mine Wall today to participate in the third Sevastopol Marine Salon," Malko said.
According to him, the forum participants will be able to visit the minesweeper Vladimir Yemelyanov, as well as the museum ship of the Black Sea Fleet Smetlivy.
The mine defense ship of the new generation of project 12700 (code "Alexandrite") "Vladimir Emelyanov" was built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard in December 2019. This ship arrived at the Black Sea Fleet a month ago - on September 6. The minesweepers of this project have a unique, the world's largest hull made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by vacuum infusion. The ships of this project are designed to combat modern types of mines, both in water areas and on the ground.
