Moscow. October 7. INTERFAX - The flagship of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation, the vAryag cruiser and the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs, left Vladivostok for the Sea of Japan to conduct an air defense exercise, the fleet's press service reported on Thursday.
"The exercise is taking place in accordance with the fleet combat training plan in one of the sea ranges of the Sea of Japan," the report says.
"More than 10 ships and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet will perform tasks to close the area of combat training exercises to ensure the safety of civil navigation," the press service noted.
According to the report, the ships will fire anti-aircraft missile systems "Fort", "WASP" and "Dagger" at air targets simulating the aircraft of a conditional enemy and small-sized high-speed low-flying objects.
