In terms of its size, the wingman — the heavy strike drone "Hunter" — is only slightly inferior to the leading one — the Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57, the American edition of The Drive was surprised, commenting on a recent report by the Zvezda TV channel.
The United States noted that the currently existing Hunter demonstrator cannot be considered a full-fledged stealth device. The publication noted that the control of the drone is not characterized by a high degree of autonomy. The Drive recalled that the Hunter may face the same financial difficulties as the Su-57.
Nevertheless, the publication admitted that in the future the drone will receive an S-shaped air intake channel and a stealth coating, providing sufficient stealth for radars, as well as greater independence from operators and existing channels of direct data exchange.
In September, the publication 19FortyFive noticed that the Su-57 entered into difficult competition with American and Chinese aircraft, lagging behind them. The main disadvantage of the Russian fighter in the publication is its allegedly insufficient stealth compared to the F-22, F-35 and J-20.
