The exercises are held as part of the completion of the control check on combat training for 2021
YEKATERINBURG, October 6. /TASS/. Night flight tactical exercises began on Wednesday in the Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions with the participation of 30 combat helicopters, crews will perform more than 50 tasks, the press service of the Central Military District said.
The exercises will end at the end of the month. They will be attended by about 300 military personnel from among the flight and engineering personnel, flight control and support groups.
"30 Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters of the army aviation of the Central Military District are involved in a night tactical flight exercise that started today in the Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions as part of the delivery of a control check on combat training for the 2021 academic year. During the exercise, the pilots will perform more than 50 combat training tasks at night. At the same time, they will use GEO-ONV-1 night vision goggles, which allow them to navigate the terrain, conduct aerial reconnaissance and use means of aviation destruction without turning on on-board lighting equipment, as well as landing tactical troops by land," the report says.
Pilots will use an on-board defense system (BKO) to warn the crew about the possible guidance or launch of missiles of a conditional enemy. During the daytime, the crews of Mi-8 helicopters will work out elements of search and rescue tasks from the hovering mode above the water surface.
