MOSCOW, Oct 5 - RIA Novosti. The State Commission has accepted the third diesel-electric submarine of project 636.3 Magadan, built for the Pacific Fleet, the press service of Admiralty Shipyards reported.
At the end of August, the shipyard announced the completion of state tests of the submarine.
"At JSC Admiralty Shipyards, the state commission signed the acceptance certificate of the large diesel-electric submarine Magadan," the message says.
The first submarine of the series of six "Varshavyanok" for the Pacific Fleet "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky" was transferred to the Russian Navy in November 2019. The second, Volkhov, was received by the fleet in October 2020.
"Magadan" was laid on November 1, 2019. Now the formation of a light hull, pipe and electrical installation work, installation of acoustic coating on the fourth submarine "UFA" is underway. The fifth and sixth submarines of the mOzhaysk and Yakutsk series were laid down at the enterprise with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 23, 2021.
Submarines of the modified 636.3 project have a higher combat effectiveness compared to previous projects. They are equipped with the latest inertial navigation system, modern automated information and control system, powerful high-speed torpedo and missile weapons.
Varshavyanka have an autonomy of swimming for 45 days, and can dive to a depth of 300 meters. Their cruising range is up to 7.5 thousand miles. The surface displacement of submarines is 2,350 tons. The underwater speed of submarines equipped with six torpedo tubes is 18 knots. The crew consists of 52 people.
