"During the autumn draft of 2021, which will last until December 31 of this year, we expect the arrival of more than 3 thousand newly arrived military personnel to the formations and military units of the Airborne troops," said Dmitry Satarov, head of the organizational and mobilization department of the Airborne headquarters.
He noted that conscripts will join the ranks of all formations and military units of the Airborne Troops - from Ussuriysk to Pskov and Feodosia. The only exception will be the Ulyanovsk 31st Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade, which is equipped only with contractors.
It is already known that more than a thousand recruits will be trained at the 242nd Airborne Training Center in Omsk. Young soldiers will be trained there until next spring. At the end of the "training" they will receive landing specialties and will continue to serve as gunners-operators and mechanics-drivers of combat vehicles BMD-2, BMD-4M and BMP-2. In Omsk, new recruits will also train signalmen, gunners and other specialists in demand in the Airborne Troops.
About 30 more recruits will be sent to the Central Base of airborne equipment and property in the city of Kolomna, Moscow region. After studying there, which will also end in the spring of 2022, these guys will go to serve in the army as specialists in the repair and maintenance of parachute devices and systems.
"All-recruits arriving in the Airborne Forces have a category of fitness for health "A", which allows them to perform military service in all types and branches of the Armed Forces without restrictions," the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry clarified.
It should be borne in mind that among the "amphibious" conscription of autumn-2021 there are over 300 young people who were trained before the army in the DOSAAF of Russia in the specialty "driver of a vehicle" with the category "C". The same number of drivers in this category have been trained in other institutions. And about a hundred conscripts received specialties in demand in the Airborne Forces, including a locksmith, a milling cutter, a turner, a tractor driver, a cook, a paramedic, etc.
The head of the organizational and mobilization department of the headquarters of the Airborne Troops explained that due to the epidemic situation in the country, upon arrival at the military units, a set of mandatory preventive measures will be carried out with all young soldiers.
"In the future, the arrived personnel will be placed on the territory of the military unit in a special point," Dmitry Satarov said. - This point is equipped in a separate building, provided with a stock of protective medical masks and disinfectants. A daily three-time thermometry will be organized for the recruits for two weeks. These days, the personnel will undergo a medical commission and an in-depth psychological examination."
