In Ulyanovsk, they want to establish the production of seaplanes. Executive Director for manned programs of the state Corporation "Roscosmos" Sergey Krikalev discussed the development of small aircraft with the acting governor of the region Alexey Russian.
In particular, it was about an amphibious aircraft that is capable of taking off and landing on land and on water, reports ulpravda.ru . They are often used in extinguishing forest fires, they are also in demand for air ambulance.
"Ulyanovsk already has a good aviation school from the point of view of engineering school, from the point of view of pilot training, from the point of view of ground infrastructure. Therefore, it can become a hub for the development of small aircraft," Sergey Krikalev believes.
The intersectoral engineering Center "cOmposites of Russia" of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University has created a technology for manufacturing volumetric-reinforced preforms of gas turbine engine elements using directional fiber laying. The development can be applied in the construction of products of the rocket and space, aviation, marine and transport industries. This was reported to Izvestia on September 17 at the cOmposites of Russia Research Center. The technology uses domestic materials and an automated production system of its own design. Currently, Russia does not have its own production of serial small-sized GTE for light helicopters, airplanes and UAVs.
