The Novosibirsk and Knyaz Oleg nuclear submarines will also complete state tests
MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. The carrier of the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicles, the Belgorod nuclear submarine, as well as the Novosibirsk and Knyaz Oleg nuclear submarines will complete state tests by the end of the year, Mikhail Budnichenko, Director General of sEvmash, told TASS.
"Novosibirsk, Prince Oleg and Belgorod are next in line. By the end of the year, these ships must perform several more trips to sea for factory and state tests. For today, all work on delivery submarines fit into the schedules. The ships show themselves well at sea, confirming their characteristics," Budnichenko said.
He noted that after these missile carriers leave for the fleet, the SEVMASH factory slipway will not be empty. "This year, two more nuclear submarines were laid - the Dmitry Donskoy and Prince Potemkin of the Borey-A project. They have closed the line of strategic cruisers, the construction of which is currently underway in the factory boathouses. Work continues on multi-purpose submarines. We are making maximum efforts for rhythmic construction," the head of the shipyard said.
He recalled that in the summer the Krasnoyarsk multipurpose submarine of the Yasen-M project was withdrawn from the workshop, and in the spring the shipbuilders handed over the Kazan lead missile carrier of this project to the Navy. Speaking about the 2021 delivery program, the CEO stressed that the company is not slowing down, and the year has become one of the most stressful in the last 20 years.
