Moscow. October 1. INTERFAX - Over 2,500 new models of weapons and military equipment have been received by the Ground Forces this year, Commander-in-Chief Oleg Salyukov said.
"In order to increase combat capabilities and upgrade the fleet of equipment in 2021, more than 2,500 new basic weapons, military and special equipment will be delivered to the formations and military units of the Ground Forces," he said in an interview with the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation kRasnaya Zvezda.
According to him, modern T-72B3M and T-80BVM tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers are being purchased for tank and motorized rifle units, and the supply of upgraded armored vehicles - T-90M tanks and upgraded BMP-2 combat vehicles with the bErezhok fighting compartment has also begun.
"This year, research exercises and testing of BMPT have been conducted, according to the results of which the previously obtained results on the methods and techniques of actions of units equipped with BMPT have been confirmed," Salyukov said.
He noted that purchases of the Terminator BMPT in the interests of the Ground Forces will continue.
