The crews of the world's largest Mi-26 transport helicopters of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defense have fulfilled the tasks of transporting bulky cargo. On an external suspension, they transported an object simulating a fighter plane.
According to the press service of the Western Military District, the pilots secured, lifted into the air, transported not only a "fighter plane", but also containers with humanitarian aid.
The delivery of non-standard goods on an external suspension is a very difficult task. And the crews are constantly working out these skills.
The maximum load capacity of the Mi-26 is 20 tons. Pilots carefully monitor their cargo, tracking its condition by on-board video cameras.
