MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. The ROSCOSMOS State Corporation provided the launch of 140 domestic and foreign spacecraft in 2020. This is stated in the annual report of the state corporation.
The document notes that 17 trouble-free launches were carried out in 2020, of which two launches were carried out as part of the GLONASS system development program, five commercial launches and three according to the plans of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. "During these launches, 140 spacecraft [including small-sized ones] were launched, of which 18 spacecraft [spacecraft] for socio-economic purposes, 119 spacecraft for commercial purposes, 3 spacecraft for military purposes," the report says.
It also notes that Roscosmos organizations also provided two launches of Russian rockets from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. In addition, when the gOnets-M spacecraft unit No. 16 was launched, a group of 19 small satellites was launched as a passing payload.
Thus, as of the end of 2020, the domestic orbital grouping consisted of 160 satellites (71 vehicles of socio-economic and scientific significance and 28 navigation satellites).
In addition, in 2020, newly created space ground stations were put into operation: four regional and two central stations of the gOnets satellite communication system.
