On Wednesday, September 29, the final stage of the tactical exercise of two regiments of the Novorossiysk Airborne Assault Mountain Division took place at the OPUK training ground in Crimea.
Using standard equipment and armament of combat vehicles of the BMD-4M, BMD-2K-AU and BTR-MDM "Shell", soldiers and officers, with the support of tank and artillery units, worked out offensive actions at the training ground. They defeated the imaginary enemy with fire from T-72B3 tanks, 120-mm self-propelled artillery guns 2S9 "NONA-S" and 122-mm howitzers D-30. The paratroopers led the offensive in the conditions of the active use of unmanned vehicles by the conditional enemy.
The actions of the winged infantry were observed by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. Later, during the analysis of the exercise, he noted the competent management of the units in the squad - platoon-company link and praised the coordinated actions of the servicemen. The Deputy Minister particularly appreciated the desire of commanders to use the experience of modern local wars and armed conflicts on the battlefield. Yevkurov also spoke about the new approaches that the paratroopers demonstrated in the fight against drones and low-flying targets of a conditional enemy.
"At this exercise, I would like to note the actions of the so-called mobile groups to combat UAVs, the actions of small tactical groups and the process of fire control. It is clear that during the preparation for the exercise, the commanders paid special attention to these issues," Yunus-Bek Yevkurov noted.
In total, the Airborne command involved up to two thousand servicemen and about a hundred units of combat and special equipment in the regimental tactical exercise in the Crimea.
