It can transport up to 250 kg of cargo
MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Factory tests of the transport parachute system of the tEchnodinamika holding (part of Rostec), which with the help of a navigation system can automatically deliver about 250 kg of cargo to the place with maximum accuracy, have been completed. This was reported to journalists on Wednesday in the press service of Rostec.
"The development of the holding has shown its reliability in the framework of factory tests, which lasted six months. During this time, the system was dropped in the Moscow, Ryazan regions, as well as in the Crimea. Now we are moving on to the stage of flight design tests, which we plan to complete in the first quarter of 2022. In addition, our designers have already upgraded their own development, increasing its load capacity to 500 kg. This system is currently undergoing research tests," the press service quotes the words of the holding's CEO Igor Nasenkov.
The transport system consists of a landing platform, a parachute with a controlled dome of the "wing" type, as well as equipment for automatic flight and guidance. The system is guided by the coordinates of GLONAS or GPS, can be controlled from the ground or descend in the "slave" mode. In this case, the cargo follows the "leading" parachutist.
"The main advantage of the system is accuracy. Tests have confirmed that when dropped from a height of 4 thousand meters, the landing error does not exceed 100 m. This allows you to reduce the time of cargo deployment and plan their delivery at a qualitatively new level. The capabilities of the parachute allow landing various weapons, equipment and ammunition," the Rostec aviation cluster noted.
The system was created on an initiative basis by the Ivanovo Parachute Plant "Flight" of the tEchnodinamika holding.
