The Ministry of Defense has published a video of missile firing in the Pacific Ocean. During the planned exercise, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the cruiser vAryag and the nuclear submarine OMSK, shot the target ship with cruise missiles.
- The nuclear-powered submarine OMSK fired from an underwater position. The target was more than 450 kilometers away. The shooting area was closed to civilian shipping," the Pacific Fleet headquarters clarified.
"vAryag" launched a Vulcan rocket, "Omsk" fired "Granite". Both complexes use similar technologies. Vulkan and GRANIT missiles sneak up on the target at low altitude and transonic speed. They are able to exchange information and distribute goals. Coming close to the target, the missiles turn on the homing heads and attack simultaneously from different sides.
