NPO eLektromashina has developed Russia's first robotic perimeter security system, Prometheus. Protection against unauthorized entry is assigned to remotely controlled combat models with large-caliber machine guns.
- The system includes up to 16 combat modules. They detect the approach to the restricted area, notify about it and, if necessary, protect the protected object. The operator is located in any convenient place and controls the work of Prometheus from the remote control, switching to the priority module, "Igor Afanasyev, General Director of Elektromashina, told TASS.
Commands to the violator are given through the loudspeakers available in the combat modules: by the operator's voice or automatically. Prometheus is designed to protect particularly important objects of law enforcement agencies and regime enterprises.
- From the software to the combat module itself, it is completely developed by NGOs, - said Afanasyev. - Our specialization: drives, control systems, software, is what we are currently strong and competent in.
In 2020, the Strategic Missile Forces showed a robotic system for protecting the launch positions of ballistic missiles, arranged according to the same principle as the Prometheus. Stationary combat modules with machine guns and grenade launchers are able to bring targeted fire within a radius of 400 meters. The system can operate in automatic and semi-automatic modes. In the latter case, the operator gives the command to kill.
