TSAMTO, September 27. The Kamchatka crew of the PMO ship "Pyotr Ilyichev" under the command of Lieutenant Commander Yuri Nikitenko, after training at the Joint Training Center of the Navy, arrived in St. Petersburg and is ready to settle on the ship.
In the training center, the military sailors studied the principles of building a ship of a new project and the basics of operation in basic specialties. In the process of training the crew, a training base was involved, consisting of ship components and mechanisms of the new building, on which the personnel worked out actions as part of combat crews.
During the training, the crew passed tests for servicing weapons, components and mechanisms, preparing the ship for receiving weapons and sailing at sea. The crew is ready to accept a new ship from the manufacturer and begin mooring and sea trials, after which the newest minesweeper will enter the ship composition of the Pacific Fleet.
The Pyotr Ilyichev mine defense ship of the 12700 project is the sixth in the series and the fifth production ship of this project. The new minesweeper is named in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the Red Navy of the Pacific Fleet Pyotr Ivanovich Ilyichev, who died during the storming of Shumshu Island on August 18, 1945.

The new ship has a unique hull made of monolithic fiberglass. It is designed to combat all types of modern mines. The minesweeper is equipped with the latest sonar stations located on the ship itself and on remote-controlled autonomous underwater vehicles and has an automated mine action control system.
The displacement of the ship is 890 tons, the length is 62 m, the width is 10 m, the full speed is 16 knots, the crew is 44 people, the press service of the Eastern Military District reports.
