Moscow. September 27. INTERFAX-Command and staff exercises (KShU) of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) have begun in the Sverdlovsk region, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
"In the Strategic Missile Forces, large-scale KShU with the Tagil missile connection has begun. In total, more than 3,000 military personnel and about 300 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercise," the report said on Monday.
It notes that the KShU, which will be held in the Sverdlovsk region, "will not only determine the overall level of combat training of the division, but also assess the capabilities of promising weapons and special equipment coming to the re-equipped units."
"The Commission of the Strategic Missile Forces command will assess the capabilities of the connection, taking into account the rearmament," the Defense Ministry informs.
According to him, KShU-planned.
The Tagil rocket compound is equipped with a mobile ground-based missile system "Yars".
Yars is a mobile and mine-based strategic missile system that is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 11 thousand km. It is equipped with a split head with maneuvering blocks of individual guidance.
The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev, deciphered the name of the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which also covers its combat mission.
"A nuclear deterrent missile. This very name is exactly what makes it unique, " Karakayev said on the Zvezda TV channel in December 2019, noting that the Strategic Missile Forces "are not intended for war - they are intended for deterrence."
"Special attention during the exercises will be paid to new methods of engineering equipment and covering the field positions of mobile-based missile regiments, the use of a wide range of modern engineering equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, security and alarm devices, as well as the protection and defense of field areas at different times of the day," the press release says.
