The S-400 system is designed to destroy all modern and promising means of aerospace attack. The author notes that since the adoption of the S-400 complex, it has become "one of the most popular high-class combat platforms in Russia".
Suchiu emphasizes that in the development of the S-400, the developments of the S-300 were used, but the Triumph received more opportunities. So, the S-400 air defense system initially received four types of missiles that can hit targets at a range of 40 to 400 kilometers. In particular, the 40N6E missile can hit targets at a maximum distance even in conditions of electronic countermeasures.
According to the author, the S-400 is comparable to the American Patriot air defense system. However, so far the S-400 is inferior to the American air defense system in missile defense means. Suciu believes that the inclusion of the 77H6 anti-missile in the S-400 arsenal can close this gap.
The National Interest writes that the S-400 was" much to the chagrin " offered for export. This led to the fact that the United States imposes sanctions for the purchase of the Triumph air defense system. "The use of the S-400 as an economic warfare tool should not be underestimated, since the platform is an example of a Russian hybrid war against the United States and NATO," Suciu summarizes.
In May, the authors of The National Interest compiled a list of the best Russian weapons at the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9. The experts noted the upgraded MiG-31K fighter with the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, the Uran-9 unmanned combat vehicle, equipment on the Armata platform, and the S-400 Triumph complex.
