This was announced by Selchuk Bayraktar, Technical Director of Baykar Technologies, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the T3 Foundation, speaking at the International Summit of Take Off Initiatives organized as part of the third TEKNOFES Aviation, Space and Technology Festival in Istanbul.
Bayraktar spoke about unmanned aircraft systems developed by Baykar Technologies, as well as projects that are planned to be implemented in the coming years.
"Looking into the future, we can see the concept of Bayraktar TB3. This UAV with satellite control covers a distance of thousands of kilometers. We are talking about a shock drone, which is slightly larger than the Bayraktar TB2 and is inferior to the Akıncı UAV. The drone is distinguished by the ability to take off and land on sea vessels with a short runway, which many analogues in the world do not have," Bayraktar said.
According to him, Baykar Technologies is also engaged in the development of a domestic unmanned military aircraft and the eyes of the whole world are riveted to this project.
"The new unmanned military aircraft of Turkey will make a real revolution in the military sphere. The new aircraft, like the Bayraktar TB3, will be able to use short runways, " Bayraktar said.
"Our unmanned aircraft has forced many to reconsider the military concept. We hope that Bayraktar TB3 will make its first flight in 2022. And by 2023, we plan to implement the project of an unmanned domestic military aircraft, " the Anadolu agency quotes him.
