About 120 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the exercises

More than 500 specialists of radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBZ) of the Western Military District (ZVO) worked out tasks, including aerial reconnaissance of the RCB situation as part of a control check after the joint strategic Russian-Belarusian exercises "West-2021" at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the press service of the district reported on Wednesday.
"Specialists of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Western Military District conducted special exercises as part of the control check after the Zapad-2021 exercise at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region. More than 500 specialists of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the ZVO took part in the past exercises, about 120 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved," the report says.
The ZVO chemists performed about 100 introductory tasks of a full range of radiation, chemical and biological protection tasks, including in conditions of active combined-arms combat. A key feature of the exercises was the development of aerial reconnaissance of the RCB situation - to perform this task, chemists on the Mi-8 helicopter took air samples to study the dose of gamma radiation using the IMD-21 device.
The servicemen also processed small-sized and large equipment with the help of automatic filling stations ARS-14KM and a special TMS-65U machine, worked out tasks for the rapid collection and analysis of soil to ensure the movement of columns of military equipment, using chemical reconnaissance vehicles RHM-4 and RHM-6.
