The small rocket ship "Askold" of the project 22800, the construction of which was carried out at the Kerch Shipbuilding Plant named after B. E. Butoma by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, was launched.
This was reported in the press service of the State Council of the Crimea.
"The ceremony was held under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, who also checked the progress of surface shipbuilding at the shipyard and inspected the production facilities of the enterprise. According to the ship's tradition, the " bride of the ship "(according to the naval tradition, this is the guardian angel of the car and crew-TASS) broke a bottle of champagne on the side of the new vessel, after which the Askold was launched, "the message says.
"Askold" will be the second ship of the project 22800, built at the Kerch enterprise. The first - "Cyclone" – was launched at the end of last summer and is currently undergoing a complex of tests in Novorossiysk, the third - "Amur" - is under construction on the factory slipway, hull work has been completed on the order, equipment is being installed.
In August, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet reported that the "Cyclone" will become part of the fleet at the end of this year.
