Russian journalists named the alleged construction site of the Tesla plant in Russia, but the head of the company, Elon Musk, did not confirm this information. This is reported by the publication Electrek.
In a conversation with followers on Twitter, Musk said that his company has not yet chosen a location for the construction of the fourth Gigafactory plant. Thus, the entrepreneur responded to the statement that Tesla has determined the possible location of its first plant in Russia.
On September 19, the journalists of the newspaper "Arguments of the Week" said that Elon Musk and the Russian authorities agreed on the construction site of a plant for the production of electric cars. The plant will allegedly be built in Korolev, near Moscow. The authors of the message referred to two sources — the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "What the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, said back in the spring, has happened," the note says.
Electrek journalists noted that Tesla has clearly not decided on the location of the first Russian plant. However, Musk's response in social networks suggests that the company is really going to build a Gigafactory in Russia.
Earlier, the Kremlin reported that they would not prevent the regions from cooperating with American businessman Elon Musk. The head of Tesla announced the possibility of building a plant for the production of electric cars in Russia on May 21 during the educational marathon "New Knowledge": "I think we are close to having a presence in Russia."
