The strategic cruiser "Alexander Nevsky" of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet), after successfully completing tasks at sea, returned to its permanent base in Kamchatka. This was reported by the press service of the fleet on Tuesday, September 21.
The submariners were met on the pier by the command of the Submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Armed Forces of Russia, officers of the headquarters of the submarine connection, the administration of the Vilyuchinsky city district, relatives and friends.
The commander of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev, congratulated the personnel of the missile carrier on the successful completion of the task and, according to tradition, handed the crew a roast pig. Distinguished servicemen received departmental medals and diplomas, they were awarded commendations.
Next, the crew will replenish supplies and begin preparing for new tasks.
On August 24, it became known that the nuclear submarine "Kuzbass" of the Pacific Fleet returned to its home base in the city of Vilyuchinsk, Kamchatka Territory, after a long performance of combat missions at sea.
