A small missile ship of the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises in the White Sea.
As part of the exercises, the MRK Sovetsk made the transition from Baltiysk to the White Sea. The route was laid through the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Finland, the Neva, Lake Ladoga, the White Sea-Baltic Canal.
Then the crew made an exit to the sea ranges of the Northern Fleet, where they fired a Kalibr cruise missile at a coastal target. The target was located at a distance of over a thousand kilometers from the MRK-at the Chizha training ground. According to the results obtained by means of objective control, the missile successfully hit the target.
After that, the Sovetsk made the return trip, having traveled a total of more than 4 thousand nautical miles.
Currently, the ship is already at the permanent base point and has begun to carry out planned combat training activities of the Baltic Fleet, the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the BF, Captain 1 rank Roman Martov, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
