Moscow. September 20. INTERFAX-The hydrographic vessel of the Northern Fleet "Horizon" has clarified the coordinates of Russia in the area of Franz Josef Land, the press service of the fleet reported on Monday.
"Depth measurements were made, the coordinates of critical points were specified. These are the very coordinates from which the border of the Russian Federation is postponed, " said the ship's captain Vitaly Khopryachkov, quoted by the press service.
During the complex oceanographic work, "the bottom relief was surveyed with a total volume of more than 11 thousand kilometers, water and soil samples were taken in the waters of the Barents and Kara Seas," the report says.
The studies were conducted over the past two months. At the moment, the Horizon is screwed into the base of the hydrographic ships of the Northern Fleet - the village of Mishukovo.
