In September, SpaceX spoke about how space tourists spent time as part of the final Inspiration4 mission on board Crew Dragon.
So, the crew members recorded interviews with several patients of the St. Petersburg Children's Research Hospital. The group's diet also included coffee, tea, snacks, sandwiches, assorted vegetables, lamb meatballs, pasta and other dishes.
On September 16, Elon Musk contacted the crew of the Inspiration4 space mission, which went into orbit on the Crew Dragon ship. He announced that the flight was proceeding normally.
On the same day, Crew Dragon entered a record orbit — 585 km. It is home to the first fully civilian crew of astronauts. The launch of the ship took place in Florida, from Cape Canaveral. Crew Dragon is scheduled to land in the Atlantic Ocean near the coast of Florida on September 19 at 2: 06 Moscow time.
The team consists of 38-year-old billionaire Jared Isaacman, US Air Force veteran Chris Sembroski and geophysicist and pilot Sian Proctor. Also, 29-year-old Hayley Arsenault became a space tourist, as a child she suffered from bone cancer. Due to the illness, one of her legs was amputated, now the girl moves with the help of a prosthesis. Arsenault became the youngest American woman to visit space.
As explained in SpaceX, the team sent into space will conduct scientific research "aimed at improving the health of people on Earth and during future long-term space flights."
On June 25, the company of British entrepreneur Richard Branson, Virgin Galactic, received approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to launch customers on suborbital flights from New Mexico. On July 20, Amazon creator Jeff Bezos went on a suborbital space flight on the New Shepard spacecraft, manufactured by his aerospace company Blue Origin. It lasted about 11 minutes, the ship was controlled automatically. The passengers of the ship in addition to Bezos were his younger brother Mark, 82-year-old professional pilot Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Damen from the Netherlands.
