Developed in the 40s, the Soviet S-60 anti-aircraft artillery system is still in service with almost three dozen countries around the world. These systems are also actively used in the air defense units of the Vietnamese People's Army.

A few years ago, it was reported about the development in this country of a robotic version with significantly updated electronics, which can almost automatically perform combat tasks to protect the state's airspace.
Other options also appeared. For example, the Network published a photo taken at one of the military training grounds. It shows an unusual "mutant" - a captured American howitzer M101, which has a 105-mm barrel with a length of 2310 mm replaced by a 57-mm AZP-57 cannon from the S-60 already in 4850 mm long.
Apparently, the issue of creating a new means of hitting ground targets was being studied. It turned out to be quite compact, more mobile due to the M101 carriage and easily masked on the ground, having a mass of about 2200 kg (the mass of the S-60 is 4800 kg).
In addition, if the " one hundred and first "in the basic version has a muzzle velocity of 472.4 meters per second, then the" fifty - seventh " has twice as much, which improves the ability to destroy armored objects. The rate of fire has also become higher. However, apparently, this version has not been widely distributed.
