A Russian diesel-electric submarine has made a deep-sea dive.
As part of the shipboard exercises, the crew of the Dmitrov worked out tasks at various depths, Captain Roman Martov, head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic Fleet, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
The maximum dive was 190 meters.
During the deep-sea dive, the submariners checked the operation of all the systems and mechanisms of the boat, worked out the algorithm of actions when controlling the ship at great depths and with various methods of surfacing. The exercises were provided by a rescue tug.
"Dmitrov – - the DAPL of project 877 ("Varshavyanka"). Such boats are the quietest and, as a result, difficult to detect by Russian submarines. This is ensured by the absence of noisy power units, a verified streamlined shape and a special hydroacoustic coating of the hull.
"Varshavyanka" can counteract both underwater and surface ships, and are designed to protect naval bases, the coast and sea communications.
