Supersonic fighter-interceptors MiG-31BM performed combat launches of air-to-air missiles at the Telemb training ground in Buryatia.
According to the press service of the Central Military District, the main stage of the tactical flight exercise has begun in the region. According to the plan of the training, the crews detected air targets using the on-board radar station "Zaslon-M". After that, they opened fire with long-range missiles at the Strizh air targets in the near layers of the stratosphere.
In total, more than two dozen sorties were carried out during the practical stage. The exercise will end in mid-September. In total, a dozen aircraft are involved in the training, including MiG-31BM interceptors, An-12 and An-26 transporters, as well as about a hundred military personnel - pilots, engineers and technicians, specialists of the flight support and control group.
