TSAMTO, September 14. The main universal nuclear icebreaker "Arctic" of the project 22220, after undergoing dock repairs, performed an inter-factory transition from Kronstadt to the Baltic Plant (part of the USC).
Earlier, to carry out planned work on replacing the rowing electric motor (GED), the ship docked at the Kronstadt Marine Plant (part of the USC), where it stayed for exactly a month. During this period, the specialists of the Baltic Plant cut out part of the outer skin of the icebreaker's hull and performed a set of operations to replace the rowing electric motor. In addition, a number of minor works were carried out, including work on the revision of the propeller-steering complex, bottom-side fittings and painting of the ship's hull.
Accompanied by 5 tugs, the icebreaker left the Veleshchinsky Dock on September 12. Due to adverse weather conditions, the exit from the dock and the transition from Kronstadt to St. Petersburg took about 9 hours. On the night of September 13, the ship was moored at the berth of the Baltic Plant and the shore power supply was taken on board and the fire system was connected.
In the coming days, the company's specialists will begin work on the final installation of the GED, its alignment and adjustment of systems. In mid-October, the plant should start testing the starboard engine.
