According to the press service, the area of the shooting was closed in advance for civilian shipping and aviation flights. The protection of the area was provided by the ships of the Kola Flotilla of heterogeneous forces.
The nuclear submarines "Eagle" and "Verkhoturye" went to sea to participate in fleet exercises the day before. Also on Saturday, the Admiral Ushakov destroyer and the Bal missile system fired cruise missiles at targets in the Barents Sea.
The exercise with the Arctic expeditionary group of the Northern Fleet takes place under the leadership of the Commander of the Northern Fleet at the training grounds of the Murmansk Region, in the waters of the Barents and Kara Seas, the Laptev Sea near the Novosibirsk Islands, the Franz Josef Land archipelago.
