In the Astrakhan region, the military personnel of the Southern Military District trained in repelling air raids and unmanned aerial vehicles of a conditional enemy. Special attention was paid to the fight against attack drones and kamikaze barraging drones.
Maneuvers with live firing took place at the Kapustin Yar training ground. 700 servicemen and about 100 units of military equipment are involved in the exercises.
"The calculations of the Buk-M3 air defense system together with the Igla MANPADS fulfilled the standards for searching, detecting, classifying and tracking air targets, after which they destroyed unmanned and manned aircraft at altitudes from 5 to 10 km," the press service of the Southern Military reports.
"Buk-M3" is a highly mobile multifunctional complex designed to destroy aircraft and helicopters, including hovering and any means of air attack. The SAM can open fire 20 seconds after stopping and fire at surface and ground radio-contrast targets. It should be noted that on September 7, the Buk-M3 complex showed absolute accuracy, hitting the Sapsan target missiles flying at a speed of 287 meters per second.
Calculations of the Buk-M2, Tor-M2 and Osa-AKM complexes also took part in the training. Missile launches were carried out from stationary positions and in motion.
