Russia and the United States are moving away from a close partnership on the International Space Station (ISS), Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin admitted in an interview with RIA Novosti .
"I remember that during my first expeditions to the ISS, we had an integrated crew. This means that Russian cosmonauts were specialists in the American segment, and American astronauts could serve the Russian segment, go into space in each other's spacesuits, there was a single diet, we helped each other in experiments, " the Hero of Russia said.
According to him, in the future, the Russian and American crews began to move away from each other. "Is it good or bad? This is not a question for me. But the fact that we are moving away from what was called a partnership on the ISS, unfortunately, is a fait accompli," the cosmonaut said.
In September, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with CNN [...] that a divorce between Russia and the United States on the ISS is impossible. The manager stressed that Moscow intends to maintain partnership relations with Washington. "We are friends," the head of the state corporation said.
