Moscow. September 10. INTERFAX-Cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Pyotr Dubrov have completed all the main and additional tasks of spacewalking, it follows from the broadcast of Roscosmos.
"In any case, I congratulate you on the fact that we have already completed all the tasks set and even managed to do two additional ones," the representative of the MCC said during the broadcast.
The astronauts began their spacewalk at 17: 55. According to the plan, they had to complete the operation for the final connection of the Ethernet cable to the Nauka module, install platforms with three Biorisk-MSN containers on the Poisk module, and also connect the interfaces of the Nauka module and the Zvezda module of the Russian segment of the ISS.
As additional tasks, Novitsky and Dubrov had to photograph the outer surface of the Russian segment of the ISS and mount several folding handrails for the transition from the second to the first instrument and cargo compartment of the Nauka module.
The previous spacewalk for the integration of the Nauka module took place on September 3. The duration of the release was more than 7.5 hours. The astronauts failed to connect an Ethernet cable to the Nauka module, as well as install a number of handrails.
To integrate the Nauka module, a total of about a dozen spacewalks will be needed. The astronauts will have to stretch cable networks and pipelines, install means of securing large-sized objects, an airlock chamber and a radiation heat exchanger, which are currently located on the small research module "Rassvet".
The module docked to the ISS at the end of July. The launch dates of the module were repeatedly postponed. Initially, the launch of "Science" was scheduled for 2017, but it was postponed to 2018 due to a blockage in the fuel system. The blockage could cause a breakdown of the ISS propulsion system, so the module was returned to the manufacturer for revision. Later, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, said that the main cause of problems with the Nauka fuel system was not a blockage, but a marriage.
