MOSCOW, September 9. /TASS/. Roscosmos cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov installed the swing handrail No. 4005 on the Nauka module as part of comprehensive work on integrating the module with the International Space Station (ISS). This was reported on the official page of Roscosmos on Twitter.
Cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Pyotr Dubrov began extravehicular activity at 17: 55 Moscow time on Thursday to integrate the multi-purpose laboratory module (MLM) "Science" with the ISS. According to the plan, the main work will take 6 hours and 26 minutes. If they are ahead of schedule, a number of other operations have been prepared, which will take about three hours in total.
The astronauts will complete the operations for the final connection of the Ethernet cable to the "Science", the installation of a swing handrail on the module, connect the interfaces of the MLM module and the "Stars", install a number of cables, mount an installation platform with three containers for the Biorisk-MSN experiment.
If the astronauts have time, they will still have to perform work on the installation of three swing handrails on the Nauka module, photographing the outer surface of the Russian segment of the ISS, changing the orientation of the pressure and precipitation control unit, as well as installing a platform with adapters on the MLM.
