A new version of the MZKT-690003 armored personnel carrier has been introduced in Belarus. The vehicle, also known as Volat V2, received an uninhabited combat module with a 30 mm caliber gun, which turned it into a full-fledged infantry fighting vehicle (BMP). This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The Volat V2 wheeled armored personnel carrier was equipped with an uninhabited ADUNOK-BM-30 combat module. The new complex took the place of the BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle tower, from which Volat V2 was previously demonstrated. The arsenal of the new module is similar to the weapons of the previous tower. ADUNOK-BM-30 received a 30 mm caliber 2A42 gun and a paired PKT machine gun. It is also possible to install two launchers for anti-tank guided missiles.
The main difference was the sighting devices. Thus, an automatic target tracking system, a laser rangefinder and a thermal imaging channel were integrated into the fire control system of the combat module. The new optics and vertical gun aiming angles from minus 5 to plus 75 degrees allow the machine to fight against drones, low-flying planes and helicopters. ADUNOK-BM-30 allows you to hit targets at a range of up to 4000 meters.
The mass of the machine with the new combat module is 22 thousand kilograms. The diesel engine with a capacity of 550 horsepower provides the car with a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour. Volat V2 is equipped with an auxiliary power plant, which allows you to move with minimal noise when the main engine fails.
Earlier, Poland presented the modernization of the Soviet BMP-1. The vehicle received an enlarged hull, additional equipment and a new combat module with the American Bushmaster Mk 44 automatic gun.
