The specialists of the enterprise visited the Baikonur cosmodrome only for the purpose of assessing the technical condition of the structures in which the spacecraft is located

MOSCOW, September 9. /TASS/. The Molniya Scientific and Production Enterprise (NPO) visited Baikonur in order to assess the condition of the technical structure in which the Buran flight sample is stored, the enterprise has no plans to return the spacecraft to Russia. This was reported to TASS on Thursday in the press service of the NGO.

"The specialists of our company visited the Baikonur cosmodrome only for the purpose of assessing the technical condition of the structures in which the Buran spacecraft, its layout and the layout of the Energia-M launch vehicle are located. These products are not the property of the Russian Federation, there are no plans for their transportation at NPO Molniya, "the press service noted.

On Monday, the NGO " Molniya "(the developer of" Buran") reported that specialists conducted an inspection of the flight sample of the spacecraft at Baikonur. At the same time, the press service clarified that following the results of the meeting, it was decided that the disassembly, transportation and subsequent assembly of the ship and the layout should be carried out under the author's supervision of NPO Molniya as the developer of the orbiter.

Later, the general director of the Kazakh JSC "Baikonur Rocket and Space Company "Dauren Musa said that his company owns the second flight model of the Soviet space shuttle "Buran", it is not planned to transfer it to the Russian side. In February 2021, the specialized interdistrict economic court of the city of Almaty refused to satisfy the claim for the liquidation of the Baikonur Rocket and Space Company JSC and the return to state ownership of its property, including the second flight model of the Soviet space shuttle Buran.

In turn, the Director General of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, called on the owner of Buran to assess the risks of irresponsible behavior. He stressed that Musa is personally responsible for the condition of the unique machines (the flight sample of the Buran and the model of the spacecraft), but did not do anything for their proper storage.
