During the visit of the delegation of Kazakhstan led by Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar to the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation), further prospects for the development of cooperation in the production of Mi-171 helicopters were discussed.
Alexey Kozlov, Managing Director of U-UAZ, showed the guests the modern workshops of the enterprise, the assembly lines of the Ka-226T light multi-purpose helicopter, the Mi-171A3 offshore helicopter. The latest Mi-171A2 civilian helicopter was presented at the product readiness line.
"Kazakhstan has become one of the first operators of the new Mi-171A2 helicopter. The first such helicopter was delivered to the republic in 2019. This year, on the basis of the U-UAZ aviation training center, crews from Kazakhstan underwent annual training in order to improve their skills to ensure the safety of Mi-171A2 flights," said Alexey Kozlov, Managing Director of U - UAZ.
Industrial cooperation between the Ulan-Ude plant and the plant No. 405 of the city of Alma-Ata, where helicopters of two modifications of the Mi-171 helicopter are assembled, has been going on for several years. Plant No. 405 also performs major repairs of helicopters throughout Central Asia. The company receives components from the Russian Federation, including from the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, according to a press release from the Union of Machine Builders of Russia.
The head of the Republic Alexey Tsydenov stressed: "Today the plant is at the advanced world level in terms of quality and technology. Right now, at the Eastern Economic Forum, an agreement was signed with the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the supply of four Mi-8AMTSh-VA helicopters in the Arctic version. For our plant, this is the expansion of the order and the formation of a guaranteed stable operation of the enterprise for its products. And in cooperation with the 405th plant, U-UAZ has very good prospects."
