Two submarines are making an inter-fleet transition from the Baltic to the Pacific Fleet, a source in the shipbuilding industry said
MOSCOW, September 9. /TASS/. The grouping of non-nuclear submarines of the project 636.3 of the Russian Navy (Navy) in the Mediterranean Sea has been brought to five units for the first time. This was reported to TASS by a source in the shipbuilding industry.
"Currently, there are five Kalibr - PL cruise missile carrier submarines in the Russian Mediterranean Squadron: three of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) and two of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet)," he said.
According to him, two submarines are making an inter-fleet transition from the Baltic to the Pacific Fleet, but they may be delayed as part of a Permanent operational unit of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
TASS does not have an official confirmation of this information.
As previously reported by TASS, we are talking about the boats "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky" and "Volkhov", together with them, the same type of submarine "Krasnodar" entered the Mediterranean Sea after repairs in Russia. Two more Black Sea Fleet submarines are part of the Mediterranean Squadron. With the presence of five submarines of Project 636.3, they can hit 30 targets with Kalibr-PL cruise missiles in one salvo.
Currently, the inter-fleet transition from the Baltic to the Pacific Fleet is also carried out by the Gremyashchy missile corvette of project 22385.
