The Russian " torpedo of the apocalypse — - a nuclear underwater drone "Poseidon" - changes the idea of a nuclear threat, since it represents a new category of strategic weapons, says the Norwegian publication Resett.
The publication notes that Russia plans to use a nuclear drone at great depth, where the latter will be able to develop a sufficiently high speed. The publication reminds that the mother submarines will be engaged in the transportation and deployment of the Poseidons, the first of which will be the Belgorod and Khabarovsk submarines. According to Resett, it is planned to build four submarines for nuclear drones.

The development of the Poseidon strategic drone capable of carrying nuclear warheads was first officially announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his address to the Federal Assembly in March 2018. It was noted that the underwater vehicle will be equipped with an innovative nuclear power plant and is a weapon of mass destruction capable of destroying targets on the water and on the shore.
