TSAMTO, September 6. The third serial frigate "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov" of project 22350, which is being built at the Northern Shipyard (part of the USC), has been loaded with turbines and reducers of a diesel-gas turbine unit (DGTA).
The DGTA M55R, developed by the United Engine Corporation, is the second fully domestic unit created at Russian facilities as part of the import substitution program.
Both the starboard and port side turbines, together with the gearboxes, are immersed in the aft engine room of the ship through special technological cutouts. After centering the gearboxes, main diesel engines and turbines, the shipbuilders will be engaged in centering and installing the shaft line. These works will take about six months.
The frigates of the project 22350 are designed to perform a wide range of tasks, including combating enemy surface ships, searching for and destroying submarines and ground targets, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and anti-missile defense of ships and vessels, joint actions with amphibious landings, patrol service, protection of state borders, ensuring the protection of civilian ships and production facilities in crisis and dangerous areas of the World Ocean.
