Military personnel of the mountain motorized rifle unit of the Central Military District, during the practical stage of the Russian-Kazakh joint tactical exercise, destroyed a band of a conditional enemy with the help of artillery calculations of the self-propelled gun "Nona-SVK" at the Kara-Haak mountain range in the Republic of Tyva. This is reported by the press service of the Central Military District.
According to the plan of the practical episode of the exercise, during aerial reconnaissance by unmanned aerial vehicles "Orlan-10", a group of illegal armed formations was detected, which was moving along a mountain serpentine in the direction of the settlement.
To destroy the gang, calculations of 120-mm self-propelled artillery installations of the 2S23 "Nona-SVK" ACS were involved. The servicemen took up positions for firing and from a distance of more than 3 km performed mortar firing at targets located on the opposite slopes of the mountains. 120-mm mines are fired at elevation angles of more than 45 degrees.
For further search and destruction of the scattered groups of the imaginary enemy, motorized rifle units on Tiger armored vehicles were involved, which, after artillery strikes, carried out the destruction of" militants " from small arms.
The main objectives of the exercise are to improve practical skills in the destruction of terrorist gangs, to work out interaction between units, as well as to develop a unified plan for conducting combat operations.
The joint company-tactical exercise of the military personnel of Russia and Kazakhstan will be held in the period from August 31 to September 4. It involves more than 500 military personnel and about 150 units of military equipment.
