MOSCOW, September 2. /TASS/. The radius of application of the Orion-E unmanned vehicle will be significantly increased after it is equipped with satellite communications. This was reported to TASS by the general director of JSC "Kronstadt" Sergey Bogatikov.
Earlier, the Orion-E device with a satellite terminal was presented at the VII International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021".
"This allows us to significantly expand its range of applications and receive information from this device anywhere in the world if necessary," Bogatikov said.
According to the CEO of the company, the satellite terminal helps to transmit data and control the drone.
Now the Orion-E UAV can be controlled via a radio channel at a distance of 250 km. According to Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec state Corporation), the drone is currently offered for export as an air reconnaissance aircraft. At the same time, the Russian armed forces receive the complex in a shock version.
