MOSCOW, 1 Sep-RIA Novosti. The underwater robot-drone "Surrogate", which simulates a portrait of a submarine with the help of acoustics to deceive the enemy, was designed in Russia, a representative of the Central Design Bureau of Marine Technology (CCB MT)"Rubin" told RIA Novosti.
The Central Design Bureau of MT Rubin specializes in the design of submarines and underwater uninhabited vehicles. Most of the submarines in the Russian Navy were designed by Rubin, in particular the strategic nuclear-class Borey and non-nuclear-class Varshavyanka.
"The improvement of acoustic systems makes it possible to more and more confidently simulate the acoustic portrait of a submarine with an accuracy sufficient to "deceive" aircraft and ship detection systems, and in the future – stationary systems. Rubin presented a concept project of the Surrogate robotic complex for conducting exercises, "the representative of Rubin said.
He noted that this large submarine simulator, equipped with a lithium-ion battery, is capable of operating for up to 15-16 hours, and all this time it will reproduce the maneuvering of the submarine, including at high speeds.
At the last forum "Army-2021", the Central Design Bureau of MT Rubin presented several new underwater developments for civil purposes, in particular, the Amulet-2 of the ultra-small class. It is designed to perform search, research and inspection work with a diving depth of up to 70 meters.
In addition, the autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle Vityaz-D was presented at the Rubin stand, which became the first underwater robot to conquer this depression and reach a depth of 10028 meters. Previously, other uninhabited vehicles (for example, the Japanese Kaiko or the American Nereus) sank to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, however, unlike the Vityaz-D, they were not completely autonomous.
