MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. The small rocket ship "Sovetsk" of the Baltic Fleet (BF) performed a combat training launch of the Kalibr-NK cruise missile from the White Sea. This was reported on Tuesday in the press service of the BF.
"MRK Sovetsk successfully fired a cruise missile of the Kalibr sea-based complex from the White Sea at a coastal target at the Chizha training ground. According to the results obtained from the means of objective control, the missile successfully hit a coastal target at a distance of over a thousand kilometers," the report says.
According to the press service, the missile firing was preceded by the inter-fleet passage of the MRK Sovetsk from the Baltic to the White Sea. During the transition, the ship's crew conducted more than 30 intra-ship exercises - on organizing the work of combat information posts when passing narrow areas, organizing maneuvering and conducting radio exchange in areas of intensive navigation, organizing anti-sabotage defense of the ship on unprotected raids, etc. In total, the ship's crew has already overcome more than 3.3 thousand nautical miles.
Currently, the MRK "Sovetsk" has begun the return transition to the place of permanent basing in the Baltic Naval base.
