Jeff Bezos ' lawyers presented more than seven gigabytes of data in the form of huge PDF files that cannot be opened.
Two weeks ago, the space company Blue Origin, owned by Amazon founder and multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos, filed a lawsuit against NASA. Blue Origin believes that the contract for the creation of a manned lunar lander, which went to competitors from SpaceX in April 2020, took place only because of Elon Musk's close ties with the leadership of the American space agency. The US Chamber of Accounts rejected these claims, and in August Blue Origin brought them to the federal court.
Recently, a journalist specializing in covering astronautics, Joey Roulette , said that the lawsuit is being delayed, including due to the huge volumes of files received from Blue Origin lawyers. In the documents that came to the reporter's disposal, it is noted that the total volume of PDF documents exceeds seven gigabytes, and many of them cannot be opened in Adobe Acrobat installed on the computers of the Ministry of Justice.
Meanwhile, the contract between NASA and SpaceX remains in limbo. The date of its entry into force has been moved a week later than the previous deadline, until November 8 (originally it was supposed to be valid from August 19). The head of the agency, Bill Nelson, has already announced that lawsuits may lead to a change in the schedule of the entire Artemis program, under which the United States and partners plan to start a new stage of lunar exploration.
It is worth adding that former astronaut Nelson became the director of NASA on April 30, after the results of the competition for the creation of the lunar module were announced. The former head of the agency was Jim Bridenstine, whose connection with Elon Musk is referred to by Blue Origin lawyers.
