"Special exercises on the types of support for the actions of troops (forces) have been completed by carrying out a set of measures for the deployment of the control system, electronic warfare troops, engineering troops, defense forces, topogeodetic and navigation, hydrometeorological support in the Armed Forces," the message says.
About 6.5 thousand servicemen and about 800 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the special exercises.
It is noted that the complex of special exercises was conducted under the general leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation-the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov.
"The special exercises completed the operational and combat training of military command bodies, formations and military units of all types of support for the Armed Forces and became the control stage of checking their readiness for the joint strategic exercise West-2021, "the military department reported.
