In the Moscow Region, motorized rifle units of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District destroyed lightly armored enemy vehicles from modernized BMP-2M with the Berezhok combat module during the exercise.
This is reported by the Press Service of the Western Military District.
During the exercise, the conditional enemy tried to break through to an important military object. The crews of infantry fighting vehicles needed to stop the enemy's attack. Live firing was carried out at a distance of 1 thousand meters on moving targets. The exercise was held at the Alabino training ground. About 100 servicemen took part in it.
Earlier, the Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District, stationed in the Moscow Region, received eight modernized BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles with the Berezhok combat module under the state defense order.
BMP-2M is a modification of the BMP-2. The vehicle is designed to transport personnel, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield. The vehicle is armed with a 30 mm automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm twin machine gun, anti-tank guided missiles, and an automatic grenade launcher.
