The Su-24 tactical front-line bomber that crashed in the Perm Region is a complex, but time-tested machine. [...] Vadim Lukashevich, an aviation expert, a former designer of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, told about this in an interview with Radiotochka NSN.
According to him, the Su-24 is a difficult aircraft to pilot, during the creation of which several test pilots — from three to five people-were killed. "Then it was brought, it is a good front-line bomber, it is brought. He was born hard, because when he appeared, he had a lot of innovations laid down for that time, " said Lukashevich and added that the bomber is a complex machine that does not forgive mistakes and requires concentration.
The aviation expert stressed that there have been no problems with the Su-24 for a long time, since it is an absolutely used aircraft. "Therefore, if there is a failure of equipment, it is already due to old age or poor maintenance. And if the pilot makes a mistake, you can build different hypotheses — either he just made a mistake, or there is not enough training, or a big break in flights, or maybe weather conditions," Lukashevich commented on the previously mentioned possible cause of the bomber crash.
A front-line tactical bomber Su-24 crashed in the Vereshchaginsky district of the Perm Territory on August 27. Both pilots ejected. They are alive and taken to the hospital. A TASS source in the aviation circles said that the crew members received broken arms, but despite this, after landing, they independently went to the village of Zapolye for help and contacted the command by phone.
