Don't shine the radar: the Americans launch a series of new missiles

The Americans are expanding their capabilities to defeat enemy radars and communication centers. Yesterday, August 26, the portal janes.com He reported that the US Navy has ordered the production of two installation batches of AGM-88G missiles.

The AGM-88G missile, also known as the AARGM-ER (Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile-Extended Range) is built on the basis of the anti-radar AARGM already in service (namely, the AGM-88E Block 1 AARGM), but with several significant differences. Thus, the AARGM-ER uses a new engine that provides an increased target range. In addition, the new version of the rocket uses a warhead of increased power.

The US Navy plans to receive the first missiles from small-scale assembly batches "in the very near future". The military does not disclose the exact characteristics of the ammunition (according to unofficial data, the AGM-88G modification has twice the range compared to the AGM-88E).
